Hello Stupideers,

Lizzie here. Quick personal aside: I've attached a pic of my baby girl, Leila, and me (heading off to a fancy dress party, before you ask). She's ten months old now, so not such a baby anymore - she has three teeth and yesterday took her very first steps. I can't believe how quickly she's growing up.

Anyhow, back to business... Would anyone like some cash? 10:10 has got together with the Guardian and The Funding Network (TFN) to search out brilliant carbon-busting projects and then whip round pots of cash for them.

The big event is called Pitch, Pledge, Party (see invite attached) and it's happening on 10th October or 10/10 (of course). This is the plan: 100-or-so committed supporters will gather at the Guardian offices in London. Some bigwigs will speak. Three carefully-selected projects will pitch their ideas. After hearing all the presentations, said supporters will, should they feel so moved, pledge cash. Then all concerned will party with abandon.

If you have a great 10:10-related project you'd like to pitch, you can apply to be one of the chosen three here.

If you'd like to come along to pledge and party, please book tickets here. The bargain cost of £10.10 includes drinks and minor food, as well as free inspiration and all-inclusive mingling. The minimum donation on the night is £100 and we're hoping to raise between £3,000 and £5,000 per project. From TFN's ten years of experience raising money for social action projects, this is how much is needed to turn a great idea into reality.

Any questions? pitchpledgeparty@1010uk.org.

Looking forward to seeing many of you (some who I already know are coming and hopefully others too) on the 10th.

Lizzie x

PS. In other news:

- Stupid crowd-funder (day job: barrister) Polly Higgins is attempting to get a new crime of "Ecocide" recognised in international law. "It is proposed that Ecocide, the environmental equivalent of genocide, becomes the 5th International Crime Against Peace alongside Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity, Crimes of Aggression and War Crimes". They are holding a mock trial at the Supreme Court on 30th September, led by Michael Mansfield QC (as seen in McLibel). Info about getting tickets for the trial - we're all going - or supporting their efforts in other ways here

- Indefatigable Stupid intern Adam Weymouth was one of 20 environmental protestors who had their convictions for attempting to shut down a power station quashed after appeal judges ruled that crucial evidence recorded by police spy Mark Kennedy had been withheld. Adam, who recently learned to love strangers on his epic walk to Jerusalem (!), says "I'm now officially of good character again".

- Anyone installed any microgeneration schemes since the introduction of feed-in tariffs? Crowd-funder Liz Laine is doing a survey and would love to hear from you: liz.laine@consumerfocus.org.uk

- Franny's old pop group, The Band of Holy Joy, are playing a one-off gig at the Borderline club on Saturday. But sadly Franny won't be on the drums as she's forgotten which end you're supposed to bang. Coincidentally, the one-and-only album recorded by Franny's other old pop group, The Playthings, was called "Consumed", which was both one of the top five frontrunners for what we now know as "The Age of Stupid" and also the name of this short film made by Stupid fan Richard Heap.
