Topics

We continue to rub minds about agriculture and irrigation. Last month our local expert was Ramadhan Chatta from Tanzania. Today it was Samwel Kongere from Kenya. Steve Bosserman (USA) and Graham Knight (UK) both have expertise in these topics, and are keen to find out how relevant their knowledge is for people like Ramadhan and Samwel.

Gradually we are getting to know each other better and learning from each other. We are also building our confidence in using etherpads as a place to hold our monthly First Thursday Dadamac meetings (i.e. when I am "at home" in UK on the Internet and hope for some visitors to join me for fruitful conversation).

Thanks to Gerry Gleeson for hosting our meeting (on his server in his basement somewhere in USA).

Dadamac's First Thursday Meeting - Date September 1st 2011

People attending

Our topics for discussion have been around agriculture, fencing, irrigation, crops and drought  in Kenya, and an agricultural technique called CA,  (Conservation Agricuilture but sometimes called Organic No-till ). We started to explore the possibility of some kind of pilot project on Sam's plot. Fola could not attend the meeting but came over in the evening to see what had been discussed.
