Today is Tuesday, and David Pinto is going away, and when I think of that I am (to use his expression) somewhat “teary”.

Last week I had the opportunity to listen to David sharing things that were (and are) deeply important to him. It is several years since we first met. On that occasion we had a reasonably deep and interesting conversation. However it wasn't sufficient to discover the full range of our overlapping interests. I only discovered that, belatedly, last week when David was in his final countdown to leaving London.

Since we first met our paths have crossed at various events, but usually in the context of noise and bustle and brief greetings, not for a deep exploration of ideas, beliefs and vision. I hope, sometime, to write more about last week and what David shared (and maybe on how that impacted on me). For now the best I can do is link to encourage people to read David's ideas. (I'm reading "inspiring change" and "small book BIG THINK") which tie in with what he was talking about last week. I can also be glad that I didn't miss the valuable opportunity that David gave to us before leaving. I learned a lot - and not just “in theory” or “about David”. He said things that have impacted on the way that I think (and even on the way that I feel about some things).

That was a powerful leaving present you gave us David–I appreciate it.
