TEC Unit Tests  -  Wick Irrigation

We now have several African NGOs showing interest in obtaining electricity from stove heat and a prototype TEC unit has been sent to an NGO in Malawi.

TEC units can be made locally using available tins or simple fabrication.
These TECs are used in millions of computers so their cost can be as little as $4 (including postage) and one will power a small bulb. With more TECs, LEDs and batteries etc can be charged
If you belong to an NGO serving people without mains electricity do ask for more info.

We may be able to provide what you need free for initial testing! Ask for a pdf.

Using Wicks

We are getting increasing interest in wick irrigation with constant news about expected droughts.

All it needs to keep a small but constant flow to plants is a suitable rope, lace, wool wicking water from a water container.
One container can serve any plant within two metres providing the wick is inside plastic tubing (to minimise evaporation).
Wicks are often much better than porous pots, drip hoses etc as the cost is minimal!
