Want to assemble a TEC unit?  -  Gasifier stoves   -  Wick Irrigation

Converting heat into electricity with thermoelectricity is inefficient so when considering using TEC modules it is very important to carefully weigh up the pros and cons for each situation.
TECs are cheap to buy but does your stove produce enough waste heat for them to work when required or will it mean burning more fuel? We are told that in many places stoves are used for heating water and also for heating a hut, apart from the cooking, so there it is ideal.

Now we have worked out how almost anyone can have a TEC device made locally for a few dollars!
If you want to know more and be put on our list of people receiving pdf leaflets about how this can be done do get in contact!

What sort of stove for you?
It seems that gasifier stoves are becoming more widespread as they will accept any dry biomass including cobs, sawdust etc to as well as wood. They also produce some charcoal that can be used to improve the soil in many places.
If you want to know more about this type of stove do get in contact!

Your next drought is due soon?
We have been contacted by the NGO ECHO www.echonet.org/ as they are concerned about drought in the many developing countries they serve.
They will shortly publish information obtained from me on using wicks to irrigate plants during droughts.
