The Dadamac Community has been celebrating Dadamac Day - our sixth anniversary celebration.

We celebrated online from several locations in the British Isles, from the Knowledge Resource Centre at Fantsuam in North Central Nigeria, from Lagos and Benin.

Our theme was "Dadamac Goes Glocal", so we were delighted to get goodwill messages from around the globe - I think they were sent from  Australia, USA, UK, Jakarta, and back to Australia again (but as we connect on the Internet I am not always certain of all geographical locations). However I do know who sent them:
    I have copied them below:

"Best wishes to the Team at Fantsuam and thanks for the help and support over the years."

From Chris Watkins - Appropedia.org - Sharing knowledge to build rich, sustainable lives.

    Hi Pamela,

I have mulled over what to share for your meeting, but I'll keep it brief.

I'm very interested in the idea of ecovillages for the developing world - creating a model which can be used and adapted, using the most appropriate technologies and an understanding of the natural environment they belong to. This is a powerful idea.

I'd love for us to find ways for our projects to work together. This may happen naturally, as part of this ecosystem of knowledge and action, or there may be small and concrete steps we can take. Our focus is on sharing knowledge, developing the culture of sharing our data, knowledge and wisdom; looking for ways to get valuable projects documented; and to get that knowledge to the people who need it.

    Does that strike a chord?

Thank you! And good night from me.
