Yesterday I posted about "Day in the life of an online learning-and-collaboration explorer" http://dadamac.posterous.com/day-in-the-life-of-an-online-learning-and-col
It included a google chat with my friend Fola - http://www.dadamac.net/network/folabi-sunday-folarin - which was more than a single posterous post could handle

Here is the end of the chat and brief observations about "my kind" of online learning.

me
: hmm - your money would be deducted? so you pay by card not by cash

I think soon your time will be up :-(
folarin: for data you load recharge card and it would be deducted we are only chatting now
chatting might not consume much data
folarin: unlike opening pages
  and surfing
  we just used 7 meg
out of our 10 meg now
  7.50 meg
me: indeed. when there are pictures it soon goes
 folarin: left 2.50
folarin: i will be going home now
  hope to chat with you
 me:
 thanks for the chat
 and greetings to your family
folarin: thanks for you time as well
me: it is a long time since we chatted
 folarin: yes
me: it has been a pleasure to catch up with you
 folarin: nice talking
me: well done on the new job
 folarin: bfn
 me: BFN

I often describe myself as an online learner - but I am often misunderstood because many people think of online learning as formal courses. Much of my online learning comes from my online friends, with their many different areas of knowledge. Today started in Mexico with Liam and a theoretical discussion (based on experience).  It finished in Nigeria with Fola kindly explaining to me the practical details of online payment of school fees and touched on much else in between.  From my point of view - a good day.

(Mention of Liam and others was in the previous, truncated post - http://dadamac.posterous.com/day-in-the-life-of-an-online-learning-and-col )
