More details for those who like the back story

People are rightly suspicious of requests for money, wondering "Who are these people" "Is this genuine?"  "Do these people know what they are doing?" "Is this genuinely what local people want or has the idea come from outsiders" and so on.

The links below start to address some of these issues. If you have any other questions or concerns please email me pamela.mclean@dadamac.net

When John first told me about this he reckoned he could only scrape together £200 in time for the deadline - but his friends are coming to the rescue.

John had expected to borrow the balance and pay it back by renting out the tractor at a fair rent to other farmers. The Fast Tractor Team is coming to the rescue with crowd funding. We're trying to get enough to buy the tractor, transport it from Kaduna to Attachab, fill it with fuel, have a "tractor welcoming" celebration, keep some back to cover all eventualities, and make sure John does not need to cover costs our of his own pocket. We want this tractor to be a real blessing to everyone. It will be maintained by Markus, someone I know well, who also maintains the generator at the Fantsuam Foundation main compound.

What next

The tractor should "pay for itself" over time. John plans to repay the tractor money to Dadamac Foundation so that it cna be used for toher "impact investments"

Maybe we will use some of the "tractor repayment money" for training others to do what John is doing at Attachab. We will be guided by what seems best at the time - first let's get that tractor to John on Monday.

I have been asked for details of how we will get the money to John and if we are genuinely collecting money up to the last moment. We are indeed. Some of the funds are already in Nigeria. As for the rest - as long as we can show that the money has been collected up over here we will be be able to raise temporary funds to the same amount in local money.

Latest total and please help me, to help John, to help the people he helps

I just checked latest total raised -  £4,895 - Amazing as we only started on Monday. We can do this. If anyone deserves help, encouragement, our money and/or our time to  drum up support then it is John Dada.

What better way to direct some of your time and money this weekend?

wow - just had a phone call - another pledge of £400 - we are now at £5,295

Do join in.
