First week in October at Dadamac October 6, 2010
Because the first week in October overlaps the end of the last week in September I was reviewing the month for our new monthly Dadamac Digest
I was also doing other things that don't show up online - including emails that weren't open letters such details of my session at ICTD2010 and early planning with Ricardo and John Dada for a project which will be a follow up to Cameras 4 Communication . This project is an idea Ricardo has for a possible small business initiative which we will try at Fantsuam and then, if it does turn out to be a good idea, we will share with other contacts in East Africa. Posts relevant to this approach are September 9, 2010 - "Marketing to the bottom of the pyramid" and Dadamac and September 27, 2010 - Dadamac - the Internet-enabled alternative to top-down development
There are only a few posts to posterous this week so I will simply list them with brief explanations
- October 6, 2010 - Knowledge Resource Centre (KRC) and Open Access Week - There is going to be a short video by "the great and the good" to launch the week, which I thought Kelechi might like to use at the Knowledge Resource Centre.
- October 5, 2010 - Dadamac, International Development, information, misinformation and reality checks. - Bala asked me "Aside from the website and other online publications, how does DadaMac raise public awareness in the UK about International development to stimulate the public over there to encourage others to help. Do you do any talks, write articles in local papers, that sort of thing?" - so I replied.
- October 4, 2010 - October First Thursday - announcing our monthly "online open meeting"
- October 4, 2010 - [OSN] MovementCamp --- Coalition Movement Camp - 10-10-10 Work Party - The aim of the Coalition Movement Camp is to enable activists, experts, and ordinary people to collaborate online with the world’s top web design talent. The goal is to brainstorm ideas towards a new generation of internet platforms for the climate crisis. The Coalition Movement Camp is staged to coincide with 350.org’s 10/10/10 Global Day of Action - I was giving it some additional visibility
- October 2, 2010 - Millennium Development Goals: The future of giving to Africa (and we need volunteers) - Bringing a discussion to John's notice - and pointing out to dadamac's posterous readers that we need more volunteers to help us keep information flowing back and forth effectively.
