John Dada update on needs and help given during current renewed violence in Kafanchan November 16, 2011
INTENSIVE DIALOGUE SESSIONS WITH SEVERAL GROUPS ONGOING. FF SUPPORTING ALL SIDES AS MUCH AS IT CAN. THE MARKETS AND BANKS WERE CLOSED ALL OF LAST WEEK, LEADING TO FOOD SHORTAGES IN HOMES AND LACK OF CASH. MARKETS HAVE REOPENED BUT BANKS REMAIN SHUT. FANTSUAM CHILDREN FEEDING PROGRAM HAS TO BE SUSTAINED NOW MORE THAN EVER FOR CHILDREN ACROSS THE DIVIDE.
FANTSUAM CLINIC CONTINUES TO PROVIDE FREE MEDICAL CARE SUPPORTED BY LOCAL VOLUNTEER MEDICAL STAFF. WE RECEIVED SOME WOUND DRESIING SUPPLIES FROM THE INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS OF THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE FRENCH EMBASSY IN ABUJA
John also informs us the £350 donation sent by Dadamac Foundation will be used for Child Feeding programme (last time banks were shut during violence John was able to obtain goods on credit).
Dadamac Foundation is a very small charity - we were sad this money was needed but glad we had something to give. We would have liked to be able to send more.
To donate now see http://www.charitychoice.co.uk/charitydetails.asp?ref=161125&name=dadamac
Dadamac Foundation has a mechanism for online giving which we use at times like this, but we do not have any regular fundrasers (most of our work is related to helping in other practical ways). We urgently needs a volunteer - or better still, several volunteers - to help us with fundraising and increasing the visibility of Dadamac Foundation, so that we can give regular financial support to projects we know and respect. Even just a couple of hours a month would be helpful to us. If you are interested please contact me - pamela.mclean@dadamac.net Please put "Dadamac Foundation Volunteer Interest" as the title of your email to make sure it gets safely to where it will be seen,
