News Update from Ethnic Supplies
Please forgive us for wishing you a happy New Year 3 months into the year but hoping that you have Had a good start to the year.
We have been busy and are very excited about the year ahead and would like to take this opportunity to share what we have been up to.

By way of an update
- We have been working on launching our wholesale service and this is nearly done and will be available through the website by 1st April 2011
- we joined by Nawale of the Moroccan Gift shop and she is now in charge of Sales, she can be contacted on 01372453756
- there has been an increased interest in sustainable fabrics such as the bark cloth from Uganda. We are currently working with two students one is a final year student at St Martin's College in London and the other an art Student at the University of Creative arts Farnham Surrey. - Ida was invited for a conversation with broadcaster Henry Bonsu at VOX AFRICA
- Internal Women's Day is 100 years this year and by of celebration we run a series of posts about the women behind our fabulous products. If you missed them can up on Ethnic Supplies Blog
- As a result of our joint working with BUSINESS FIGHTS POVERTY last year I Ida has been invited to join the Expert Contributors team on that forum
Mothering Sunday
We would like you to help us support African mothers by choosing a present for your dear mother from our range of fashion accessories and homeware this is most sustainable way to support or help end poverty amongst African mothers
LET THEM HELP THEMSELVES OUT OF POVERTY
Is the
charitable arm of Ethnic Supplies Ltd and is currently working in a remote village in SW Uganda. In December we had our first official opening of the school and a our first ever Xmas party. We distributed mosquito nets to 250 homes, thanks to our Friends on

The event was sponsored by our supporter HASTOE HOUSING ASSOCIATION. Our child sponsorship programme has also taken off in many ways than we anticipated, 100 out of 150 children all have sponsors now and this costs #42 a year, for that children get free books, a school meal, uniform and tuition. 3 girls in the village whose father died last year are being sponsored by BIRDS ON THE BLOG a FORBES listed blog
The Water project also got underway in January when the community started digging for water after 3 years of fund raising. We are now #3000 away from our target of #15,000
