Hi Karen

Thanks for inviting me to the first forum of YouDev www.youdev.org last week (on 18th May) and for welcoming me there even though I had to leave early for "the day job". I appreciated attending, and felt I found overlapping interests with other participants, but equally I was aware of the local focus (which is not my local focus). However, I recognise this is a pilot group, so it is relevant both in a local context and in a wider context, and I hope I will be able to continue to be involved.

As I had to miss so much of the meeting I am doubly grateful for the recap you have just sent to all participants.

My first impression (superficial I confess, just based on your email, not the attachments) is that, at this stage, the collaboration will be very firmly focussed on Tower Hamlets and creating a shared collaborative physical space, and that is not so relevant for the work I do. Physically I am located south of the river (and much of my work is online).

I am more interested in the part of YouDev related to its online presence and global vision. As your website says:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Globally, we envision hosting an online marketplace for the exchange of goods and services by a committed community of individuals and organizations, like eBay for social change.
I am wondering if it is possible to be part of the group exploring the online marketplace, without being part of the Tower Hamlets group. I am also wondering if the meeting this Friday is just for the "shared space" group, or for the online marketplace group as well. I will try to phone you before too long to clarify things. (I would not be able to attend the Wednesday morning meeting)
Thanks again for inviting me to get involved with YouDev.
Pamela
