Ref saving water - and Climate Change - thanks Sam and Graham February 21, 2011
Hi Sam and Graham (and readers of my open letters at http://dadamac.posterous.com
Thanks for your quick replies to my post on - Saving water (also relevant COTW and climate change)
I have copied both your emails below - thank you especially Sam for replying, as I remember your email of Feb 11th saying "I am down with malaria accampanied with flu and cough due to the dusty weather here. Things are not well for many!"
I have attached your beautiful photos Sam. and Graham I have attached your helpful pdf about the wicks - I am not sure how posterous handles attachments, so I hope they will be visible here okay.
I also plan to forward this email to the Coalition of the Willing people later, in connection with its current work on climate change and matching interested people/groups with others. [OK] Fw: Second {CC-PMS} Meeting - Sunday Feb 20 (2 PM Eastern US)- Tomorrow!

People he use plastic made water tanks sold locally at Kes: 40,000 to Kes: 60,000 as roof catchment these were introduced by care-Kenya to a few famillies. I wished sending you a photo sample before. Thanks Samwel.

Hi Pam,
(snip) I attach the draft pdf
(snip) there are about 6 trials of pots going on and a few with wicks.
Pots are too expensive in many cases but wicks look promising being a sort of continuous drip system needing no attention for weeks on end, reducing weeding etc.
But it will face the usual problems not being accepted because the watering is not seen!
I'm doing some tests but obviously it would be far better if far more were done in drylands.
Graham
