Looking back over posts of the last week the emerging theme seems to be collaboration - and reflecting on it.

Calls from Uganda continued from last week

Three people from Uganda had wanted my help. I don't have funding to offer or anything like that, but am able to do something in the way of raising visibility  - despite having to admit that I do not know the projects. (See September 8, 2010 - First week in September at Dadamac paragraph on Uganda) This is from the third person - Peter - from Kalangala District Education Forum.

I have had another similar approach this week, but have not yet had time to reply. I am wondering if I should respond by inviting people to come over to Dadamac.net and create a new account there. They could put in some profile information, and we could start some some activity over on the site - discussions etc - to help them become more visible. If you have thoughts on that please contact me pamela.mclean@dadamac.net or add a comment here, or simply go to Dadamac.net and create an account.

Collaboration opportunities

My colleague John Dada was looking for a collaborator and so were some people from the National Centre for Technology Management Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria

What other people were writing about communication and collaboration

I was interested in the ideas here because, in different ways, both of the writers are discussing greater connection (and communication and relationships) between people who sell and people who buy. This alteration of roles from top down to collaborative relationships is such a key feature of how the Internet-enabled world works, that I wanted to include their ideas and place them in the Dadamac context.

Back to where I started in Nigeria - Yorubaland

I met John Dada, my co-director of Dadamac - through my work in Ago-Are in South West (Yoruba speaking) Nigeria. I have strong links in both areas, but it takes several days to travel from John's place in North Central Nigeria down to my friends in Ago-Are, and once I am there, well, there are detours to be done to include other people and places that I know in the area. This means that Including Ago-Are can easily add another couple of weeks to the trip, so I have not been there for a while, although I have been able to connect up with some of the people online or face to face elsewhere. Last week the connection was strengthened again

Thinking about it all

I have allocated myself a space on the website where I can put some of the things that I know and am learning related to socio-technical developments and such like
