I am forwarding this invitation to participate in a survey regarding the state of ICT-enhanced education and training in Africa to some of my friends and contacts in Africa, and to  readers of my open letters at     http://dadamac.posterous.com

The survey will be open for three weeks from today.

There are three iPads* which will be given as prizes to three respondents, randomly selected from all those who complete the survey.

If you are in Africa and connected in any way with education please consider completing this survey. Don't worry if you are not part of a university or formal education institution. If you are a teacher or a learner of any kind, and if you are using ICT in some way that is connected with learning new things then I believe that makes you a practitioner and an expert and your insights could be very useful. Please give feedback, even if you are just learning informally through emails, or online chats or something.

It is fairly easy for people who do academic research to get answer from other people in academia. It is hard for them to get answers from other teachers and learners. It is easy to get answers from people who can go online easily.  It is hard to get answers from people who struggle to get to a cyber cafe to find some information. Please help to give a more complete picture.

The survey is open for three weeks.

Please see the details below, consider getting involved, and share it with others.

Dear sir or madam,

We are writing to invite you to participate in a survey regarding the state of ICT-enhanced education and training in Africa.

At this year's eLearning Africa conference in Cotonou, Benin, we will launch The eLearning Africa 2012 Report, a major new publication which will highlight the most significant trends, issues and challenges in ICT for development, education, and training in Africa.

The aim of the eLearning Africa 2012 Report is to enrich our conversations and practice with solid data, knowledge and experience from across the continent.

We want to ensure that the report incorporates the experience and insights of leading experts, practitioners and professionals, such as you.

We would be grateful if you would let us have your views by completing the online survey, which is available here: http://survey.icwe.info/

If you do not have a reliable internet connection, please follow http://elasurveypdf-en.icwe.info/ and you will be sent the survey as a word processing document that you can complete offline. Alternatively request one from elareport@icwe.info.

There are three iPads* which will be given as prizes to three respondents, randomly selected from all those who complete the survey.

The survey will be open for three weeks from today. Many thanks for choosing to participate. Please get in touch on the email address above if you have any questions.

Yours sincerely,

Shafika Isaacs and David Hollow (eLA Report Editors)
