Dadamac's posterous

Dadamac's posterous is where I post a sample of things that have caught my attention, plus occasional things I've written, including open letters, all interconnected in some way through Dadamac in Africa, online, or the UK.

In Dadamac the interconnection of topics is not just because initiatives overlap, important though the initiatives are. Interconnection is also related to the online interconnectedness of people in our networks for all kinds of reasons, and technology issues that cut across many initiatives and people. We are very locally focussed, but because our focus is in many different locations (thanks to our scattered online community) we are also very aware of wider global aspects of those local issues. We are therefore interested in the technology that enables us to connect, and many issues that stem from the impact of that technology at various levels.

Looking at my list this week I see posts to do with education, politics, phones, Africa, economics, work and more.  Some of the posts are about things completely new to me, others relate, directly or indirectly, to people I know or whose work I admire. As I checked through the posts I wrote a few key words for each - and found the important  ones were: inclusion, participation, involvement, change, transformation, adaptation, evolving, context, present, future, traditional, peer-to-peer, reality, learning, thinking, systems, disruptive, urgency.

The final post is about a festival to "bring together those, who are working on issues of change, new fundaments, basic forms, and new emerging methods of global needs and visions, relationality and process-oriented  meta-entrances and ontologies" - a bit of a mouthful (perhaps because of translation from German) but reflecting the interconnectedness that I mentioned at the start of this post.
