Hi Karen and Open Letter Readers

Karen - congratulations on getting the funding for taking youDev (www.youdev.org) forward.

I have just been checking out the website, and see impressive progress since last time we were in contact. (I know how hard it is to get things off the ground, and respect what you have already achieved.)

Thank you for inviting me to your next meeting. I'm sorry I'm not able to attend either of the possible dates. The suggested Wednesday time is the time of Dadamac's weekly UK-Nigeria online meeting, Friday's are usually more flexible for me, but the one you suggest is already booked up.

I would have liked to join you  (if only for the update and to meet you and the other people again). I am not sure what I have to offer at the present stage of youDev. As you may remember, it was our shared interest in community development in Africa that brought us together. My community development interest is mainly in collaboration with John Dada in Nigeria, and related work online. This means that while I continue to be very interested in the progress of youDev,  I am not sure how I could contribute at the moment, given that youDev's current focus is London and local, and it seems to me that the online aspects of youDev will be reflecting that.

Anyhow, I wish you all well with the meeting, please keep in touch and let me know how it goes.

I think you are the first person I'm wishing a "Happy Christmas" this year - Season's Greetings and all good wishes to you and youdev for 2011.

Pamela
